Motorised Zip Awnings & Screens on the Costa del Sol

Zip Awning — CostaGlass

Zip awnings enclose the sides with a technical fabric guided by a zip in lateral profiles, which tensions the fabric and improves the seal. We manufacture and install them directly across the Costa del Sol.

Costa del Sol

Zip Awning, made to measure

The screen fabric reduces solar radiation and glare while keeping some visibility, and the lateral guides stabilise the fabric against gusts — far better than a conventional awning, especially in westerly wind.

It is a frequent technical complement for pergolas, balconies, restaurants and large windows, with an insect-screen effect when closed.

We size the system for the real exposure of your terrace after a free survey.

Specification

How zip awning are built

01

Zip-track fabric guides

The fabric edge carries a welded zip that runs inside the lateral profile, so it cannot pull free in a gust. This is the difference between a zip screen and a conventional side awning on an exposed terrace.

02

Technical fabric options

Microperforated screen keeps daytime visibility while cutting glare and heat; opaque fabrics give full privacy and blackout; acoustic fabrics help on busy streets. Openness factor is chosen per orientation.

03

Cassette and motorisation

The roll sits in a closed cassette that protects the fabric when retracted. Motorised with remote or app, with optional sun and wind sensors that retract automatically above a set threshold.

04

Fixing structure

Fitted to a pergola, a façade or its own frame. The anchoring is specified from the substrate and the span so the guides stay parallel under tension.

The zip fabric is guided by lateral profiles, improving stability and the side seal against wind.

We do not publish fixed rates. The cost depends on the fabric area, the technical fabric chosen, the motorisation, any sun and wind sensors, and the anchoring structure required. We prepare a tailored, no-obligation quote.

Yes — enclosing pergola sides is one of its most common uses, against sun, wind and insects.
